Getting a place in the Global Poker Index is a matter of reputation for any poker player. Every week, the GPI releases a list of the top tournament poker players in the world using a formula that takes into account a player’s results over six half-year periods. Here is the latest list for you to see:

Nick Pupillo was leading the last GPI list followed by  Ari Engel in the second position. In the recent list, though Puppoli and Engel are still a part of the top 10 players Stephen Chidwick has replaced Puppoli for the first position. Engel’s position on the list has been taken by Rainer Kempe.

The games that brought Chidwick to the top are-  partypoker Millions Grand Final Barcelona — a runner-up in the Super High Roller won by Jake Schindler, a third-place finish in the Main Event won by Pascal Lefrancois and another final table in a €10K event at EPT Monte Carlo.

Kempe’s is on the second place due to the following events: partypoker Barcelona series, including a runner-up in the High Roller won by Andreas Eiler, a WPT Amsterdam High Roller final table, and multiple cashes over the past week in Monaco at EPT Monte Carlo.

Sam Greenwood has been marvelous uptil now, this year and thus, has rightly secured 3rd position in the POY list. His ascent in the list is an outcome of :  a €50K Super High Roller win in the partypoker MILLIONS Grand Final Barcelona and another mid-month victory in the WPT Amsterdam High Roller.

In this list, Chidwick has not only secured the first place but also set a record as he is the first player of British Origin to lead the overall GPI rankings.
