Outlasting a total of 122 entries over 2 days, Vidwath Shetty overcame a strong final table featuring some seasoned opponents to win his maiden DPT 100K High Roller title. The Final table was a tough field to crack with known names like Romit Advani, Samay Parikh, Sumit Sapra and Aditya Sushant, whom Vidwath defeated in a heads-up battle. In the process he also took home a cool ₹36,23,000 in prize money.

In an exclusive with PokerShots, Vidwath reveals a lot about his game and the challenges he’s faced to get where he is.

Q: Who is your Favourite Poker Player?
A: Phil Ivey.

A: I don’t really fear playing anyone as such.

Q: Where in the world do you like to play poker the most?
A: I’ve played only in India and I’ve had 1 trip to Macau so that’s a question that’s left to be answered in the near future.

Q: On a scale of 1 to 10, how much would you rate yourself as a poker player?
A: I haven’t really played enough in the international circuit to be able to rate myself, but I think I play better than most others I’ve played with in the recent years.

A: ph03nix/qweasdzxc/ishamael on different clients. No particular reason as such for selecting them though.

Q: What separates you from other players and what advice would you give to other poker players?
A: My biggest strengths are my patience, the ability to understand situations and reading a player.

A: Rather not be a preacher; so to each their own.
