As Pavel Plesuv lifted up the champion’s title at the MSPT Event #128: $3,500, 3.5 Million Guarantee Venetian Main Event, top Indian pro and GPL India Mumbai Jetsetters Team Manager Kavin Shah, finished his magnificent deep run at the 12th place, in the same event. He walked back home with a handsome  $49,101 (~₹33.83 Lakhs).

About The Tournament

The tournament started with 1,096 players on the Day 1. Shah, who had entered the tournament through Flight 1C, made it to the Day 2 with a modest chip stack, all set to take down the game. On Day 2, his performance was heart winning. He took down several heavy pots to attain the chip lead. By the time of the last break of the day, he was already the owner of a heavy chip stack of  3,66,000. Yes, he did make a few mistakes leading to some loss in bankroll, but just prior to 6 hands left in play, he doubled up against Perouse.

He led out with a raise of 25,000 from UTG and Julien Perouse 3-bet it to 75,000 on the button. Shah then 4-bet jammed for 1,89,000 and Perouse called. It was Shah`s card 3card 1 vs Perouse`s card 1card 1. The flop card 2card 3card 2 improved Shah’s hand further but Perouse picked up a gutshot straight draw on the card 3 turn. Shah dodged a few outs on the card 3 river and was able to spike a double-up that took his stack up to 3,02,000.

Prior to Jack O’Neill’s elimination in the 11th place, Shah was eliminated by Romero at the 12th position.
