New Delhi: The police said on Tuesday, that the Vigilance Branch of the South region, acting upon a secret tip-off, raided a prominent casino racket being run in a farmhouse at Dera Mandi Road, Fatehpur Beri in South Delhi.

According to the police, 30 individuals including 14 players, five female attendants, 12 businessmen (from Delhi, Gurgaon, and Noida), dealers, coordinators, and the owner of the property-Suresh Yadav, were arrested from the illegally run casino, sprawled across a 13-acre farmhouse.

Additionally, tokens worth crores, alcohol and 45 bundles of playing cards were found. 13 luxury sedan vehicles were also discovered and have now been seized.

The farmhouse at the centre of the mess is, incidentally, often leased for filming different TV serials and movies. The police added that the casino was running throughout the previous two months from the farmhouse.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Ishwar Singh, informed the media how, around 11 pm, a trap was laid at the farmhouse. The cops then raided the premises and discovered many individuals playing cards and betting on four major tables. The men on each table were being helped by the coordinators and the attendants.

A Times of India report claimed that the police recovered betting chips worth crores of rupees from the spot. The report claimed that, “Lakhs, sometimes crores, were lost and won on tables where people played roulette, blackjack and poker.

It was not the first case police had come across, the similar cases showed up in Sainik Farms and Vasant Kunj a few months back.
