ESPN has announced that Fedor Holz invested in Envy Gaming, Inc., the parent company of Team Envy and the Dallas Fuel, where Envy joined in the second quarter of the fiscal year of 2017.

Currently, Envy wanted to endure success as an eSports entrepreneur after already carving his name in the poker world with almost $27 million in live poker tournament cashes (as per The Hendon Mob).

Holz built his interest in the organization after developing a friendship with World Champion eSports gamer Nathan “NBK” Schmitt – who later introduced Holz to Envy CEO Mike “Hastr0” Rufail in 2016. The incident connected, during the $111,111 One Drop WSOP tournament where he won $5m back in the summer of 2016; Holz wore Team Envy gear during the final table. Subsequently a year later, he decided to invest in the esports team.

I like to invest in things that I’m emotionally connected to, because I feel that I contribute the most but I also get the most out of it,” Holz told ESPN. “I like Envy, I like to watch, I like the way they build their infrastructure and team, take care of their players. And it was just a corporation I wanted to be a part of in some way.”

Team Envy has grown on its success in the eSports industry after being awarded the 2016 eSports Team of the Year, and Holz believes his impact will further help the team in handling issues that young players face while competing at the highest levels.
