June 30th, Hard Rock International formally started the procedure to acquire the license to build the Hard Rock Entertainment World in what was once Barcelona World. The project priorly focuses on the unique combination of hotels and conventions along with world-class entertainment, dinning and shopping.

The company will initially start with its development of the Centre for Recreation and Tourism located in Catalonia, Spain. The project is estimated to go up to the €2,000 million which includes a first phase for €600m – The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tarragona. Apart from this, PortAventura will associate with the company to build a 500-room hotel in the shape of the company’s iconic guitar.

The project will not only benefit the guests around but also add perks to the region as a whole. It is expected to provide new modes of direct and indirect hiring of about 11500 individuals and similarly, inject the economy with €1.4 million. Foreign investors are also expected to bring in further cash-flows.

Jim Allen, the CEO and Chairman of the group, said that the “group was honoured to work with the Catalan government on the creating of hard Rock Entertainment World.”

Many luxuries are planned for the visitors who can relax and enjoy at the 75-store shopping mall, besides try their luck at what would be the largest casino in Europe with over 1200 slot machines and 100 tables.
