As promised at the year start, the Asia Poker League has reached Philipines for its six day long event, named APL Road Series Vol.1 Philippines, featuring P5,000,000 Guaranteed Main Event, with an initial buy-in of buy-in P27,500.

Angeles city in Philippines is housing the first-ever Asia Poker League at the Royce Hotel & Casino. The Series started on the 24th of February and would last till 1st March. The first three days were booked by the starting flights (Day 1`s) of the Main Event and the last three days have Day 2, Day 3, and the Final Day of the Main Event, in store for us. Apart from this, 10 other side events awaits our excitement.

The three flights of the Main Event is already over and Day 2 has also rolled out already. The felt witnessed 276 entrants out of which only 76 players made it to Day 2. After Day 3’s game, the felt has been further reduced to 36 players. Indian Poker Player, Rajesh Goyal is leading the pack of surviving participants at the end of Day 3. Looking at his game so far, the poker landscape is quite expectant that he might lift the winner’s trophy at the end. He is leading the chip stack with 608,000.

A host of Indian challengers are in attendance at the series and quite a few of them had managed to make it to Day 2 including Niwesh Sharma (170,100), Agampal Dhupar (133,200), Rajesh Goyal (125,600) and Jayjit Ray (57,000).

Coming to the side events, the High Rollers and the Warm Up Event was taken down by Jaeheung An and Tae Joon Cho respectively. Niwesh Sharma secured the 6th position at the Warm Up Event for  P17,000 (₹21,252).

Harold Ruaya took down the  Pot Limit Omaha 1 and China’s Zhu Xing Biao  and Adones Carmona emerged as the champions in No Limit Hold’em Turbo  and Pot Limit Omaha 2 event, respectively.
