The Grand Tournament

The second starting flight saw 451 entries coming through the first eight levels of the day. After fourteen 45-minute levels and some interesting hustle, the field whittled down to 78 contenders.

It was on this day that Italian pro, Gala, found his shot to glory as he bagged 329,000 chips to end as Day 1B chip leader. It would be nice to see Gala run deeper in the event as he fights for a live championship title.

Quite a few known faces who made into Day 2 after grinding hours on Day 1B include Monika Zukowicz, Traian Bostan, Alex Brand, Gabriele Re, Paul Romain, Espen Uhlen Jorstad, Daiva Byrne, and Daniel Stacey.
