Finishing Day 3 of 2018 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) Main Event with highest chip count, Ryan Riess is leading a bunch of 50 poker enthusiasts who wish to grab the top prize, worth €1,22,239. Former WSOP Main Event champion has bagged 4,233,000 chips and is way ahead of Ivan Gabriele– the man in the second lead.
After Adrian Mateos ended his run at the WSOPE Main Event, Riess is the only WSOP champion in the fray.
The 2013 WSOP ME champion finds the European version very different from its Vegas counterpart. He went on to say, “It’s actually a lot different than Vegas. But it’s still the same tournament, it’s still the same old Main Event. The buzz is different around it here in Rozvadov, but it’s still a very prestigious tournament.”
WSOPE Day 3 At A Glance
Day 3 of €10,350 MAIN EVENT started with 165 players who joined for a six-level match of 90 minutes each. However, the day also marked the end of the dream run for many poker heavyweights including India’s Shravan Chhabria. Chhabria had started Day 3 on a positive note with 239,000 chips in his bag. But, he couldn’t be one of the final 50, all set to clash on Day 4.
It was a no-return endeavour for Maria Lampropulos, Tobias Ziegler, Ludovic Geilich, Viktor Blom, Alex Foxen, and former WSOPE champion Adrian Mateos. Players who managed to cash the minimum amount include Ben Heath (80th – €15,074), Mustapha Kanit (78th – €15,074), Will Givens (76th – €15,074), Jan-Eric Schwippert(67th – €15,700), Dietrich Fast (59th – €16,723), Tobias Peters (53rd – €18,210), and Rainer Kempe (52nd – €18,210).
Also, good news for fans of ‘The Chainsaw’- Allan Kessler, as he managed to walk past Day 3 after 15 attempts in Las Vegas and 4 in Europe. It certainly will be good to see more of this astounding player who has over $3.5 Million in lifetime winnings.
