Think of WSOP and what comes to your mind? Name, fame, glory and huge paychecks! Well, there’s one more thing- the WSOP Player of the Year title, awarded each year to one deserving player who manages to maintain an exemplary performance throughout the year. This year, it’s none other than Shaun Deeb- the American pro and 2017 WSOP Main Event Winner. Topping the chart with 5,073.92 points, Deeb now joins the illustrious list of poker legends.

The WSOPE Main Event Day 2
While Shaun Deeb didn’t get past Day 1B at the WSOPE Main Event, he managed to fetch a score that has given him one of the most sought-after titles in the history of poker. On the other hand, Dario Sammartino has wrapped up Day 2 as the chip leader. It is now only a matter of time before we know who walks out with the highest share of the €5,000,000+ guaranteed prize pool.
Quite rightly put forth by Sammartino- “It is a good start, but nothing really special yet. Special is when you win, not now.”
Day 2 at King’s Casino Rozvadov marked the beginning of Europe’s biggest poker tournament. The 2018 World Series of Poker Europe €10,350 Main Event gathered 534 entries in total (including re-entry) to successfully surpass the guaranteed prize pool of €5,000,000. So, the calculations reveal that the top 81 places will get paid while half of the remaining will have to go home empty-handed. The highest prize is pegged at €1,122,239 and the gold bracelet, of course.
