The Spartan Poker for the very first time clubbed their famous ‘The Millionaire’ tournament in the Spartan Super Series (SSS). It is one of India’s most sensational and biggest tournament with a prize pool of INR 1 crore and a buy-in of INR 7,700. A trail of events was scheduled for the series with a long list of winners rolling out but the poker industry’s eyes were focused on the winner of the Main Event that is ‘The Millionaire’.
Initiated at 6 in the evening, the SSS Main Event lasted for about 14 hours till 8 the next morning. This made it one of the tiring, longest yet thrilling grinds for the players.
A total of 1,271 entries were registered for ‘The Millionaire’ where the Indian cadre was represented in good numbers. It was Abhishek Jaiswal who managed to survive till the end to win a gigantic, mind-blowing top prize worth INR 25,00,000, which is more than 324 times the buy-in he paid for.
One amazing factor for Jaiswal this time was that he defeated ‘Dark fish’ in a heads-up play. ‘Dark fish’ went home with the runner-up title and prize worth INR 15,00,000. Towards the end of the play, Dark fish went all-in with three-three, Jaiswal held As-Jc. The board ensured Jaiswal’s clear-cut win when it ran with 6c- Ad- 9d- Qd- Ac.
Showing great prowess at the tournament, 120 top players went home with minimum INR 20,000. Among the famous faces of the poker circuit who contended in the tournament were Kunal Sharma, who secured 6th place taking home INR 3,00,000 along with Bibek Karki who finished at 4th position earning INR 6,00,000.
