As the sun set on Day 1b of Baadshah Live Tournament’s Main Event, Devesh Thapar bagged the chip-lead title for himself, stocking 2,48,400 to begin Day 2 with. Goa’s Pride Poker room is currently buzzing with poker honchos from all over the country who are vying a title or two at the Baadshah Live Tournament (BLT) Season 3.
Thapar’s Double Elimination
Winner of PokerBaazi’s MoneyMaker2, Devesh Thapar needs no introduction. The Delhi-based pro pulled an easy move to cause double elimination. One, of Shashank Siddharth (busted flush draw) and the other of Mihir Thakkar (king-9); Thapar held Ace-9 and the board ran 6-4-9-X-X to send Siddharth and Thakkar back to the rail.
The Main Attraction
The ongoing BLT’s main attraction is, of course, the Main Event- for which the first round of entry flight took place online on 23rd of last month. The second flight that took off on Friday, October 5 carried 24 contestants. Out of whom, 5 have successfully made their way to Day 2.
Catch-up; Day 1b
Day 1b elimination started with Amit Dev who lost a considerable chunk of chips quite early in the tournament. It was Gaurav Gala’s bigger straight that sent Dev packing and also conferred the former as chip leader till the first break of the evening. Owing to the deep structure of the tournament, players got the opportunity to play much more than usual. Notables like PokerBaazi Pro Vikram Kumar and WSOP bracelet winner Aditya Sushant were also seen taking a seat at the Main Event. Kumar, who did not do wonders at the 75k High Roller, happening alongside, managed to score some chips by eliminating Pranav Bhatija. Sushant, too, has secured an entry into Day 2 of the event and he is currently on position three. While the casualty list of 19 contestants includes Anant Purohit and Gaurav Gala.
