12 players from India have successfully marched into the 2018 Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Manila Main Event Day 2. And, three noted pros Amanpreet Singh, Kavin Shah and Kunal Patni are in the lead. A 20 million guaranteed prize pool is enough to catch the world by storm, and that’s exactly what happened at the PokerStars Live Manila poker room in Manila on Thursday. A record-breaking 604 entries, including 479 unique entries are ready to go all in for the tournament title and the coveted Platinum Pass!
Highlights Of Day 1
Day 1A is over and 167 contestants have walked into Day 2. This count includes 12 Indian names but WSOP bracelet winner Aditya Sushant’s is missing as the latter failed to make it through the day. Amanpreet Singh moved into Day 2 with 198,700 chip count, Kavin Shah stacked 146,400 and Kunal Patni has 106,900 in his bag.
The fourth tournament at the ongoing APPT Manila Series saw 32 Indians strike in. However, 12 are only remaining but the Indian ensemble at the signature event of the APPT Manila Series is always a treat to watch. Singh started good and kept the momentum going till the end. Right after the first three levels, he had accumulated around 80,000 chips.
Overall, it was an average day for the Indian crew as a whole. Though riding high on expectations, some stalwarts from the Indian circuit couldn’t stay long to see Day 2 of the ME. And, they were Sriharsha Doddapapeni, Siddarth Singhvi, Aditya Sushant, Vivek Rughani and Vidwath Shetty.
