PokerStars All Set To Welcome The 2018 WCOOP And Unfold

It just doesn’t stop getting better and better at PokerStars! The online gaming bigshot has offered a double treat for all poker lovers with its tiered Buy-Ins for its 2018 World Championship of Online Poker, just as it looks all set to welcome a new variant of poker called Unfold.

As it Unfolds…

Unfold is first of a kind Hold’em making an entry into the Danish PokerStars client. The world, of course, awaits its debut because this variant will allow the players to have a chance to continue playing even after they’ve folded their hands! Unfold starts off as a regular Hold’em except that there is a separate ante, varying between 60 and 100 percent of the big blind. This goes into the “Unfold pot” separately.

After the preflop round, once the contestants decide whether to Fold or not, the rest of the hand is played out for the main pot. In this round, there’s no action between the unfolded players. In case the winner of the main pot is decided before the river is revealed, the community cards are dealt to find out the unfold winner. So, there are two pots awarded- one for the main pot and the other for the unfold pot.

Expressing his excitement about this interesting and latest variant of poker, Stephen Bartley from PokerStars wrote, “No more agony watching your hand turn good on the flop. No more waiting around for the game to get interesting. And no more long spells being card dead.”

The WCOOP

Be it the surprises or the planned gigs, PokerStars got everything covered. Come September 2nd, the WCOOP will start streaming on PokerStars- and this time, there is a twist!

One of the most acclaimed series of online poker, WCOOP will feature over $116 million in Guarantees. The Main Event will be the showstopper for its $10 million Guaranteed prize pool. Well, that’s not surprising for a tournament like WCOOP, but the tiered buy-in format being introduced is. It’s good news for players intending to participate with buy-ins as low as $2.20. For folks expecting more, there are six Platinum Passes up for grabs.
